China and Overseas Medias Focus on GSS

The 2008 3rd GSS press conference is held on the afternoon of Nov. 9th. Over 50 Chinese and overseas medias including CCTV, Journal of Commerce, Oriental TV, Phoenix TV, Xinhua news agency, International Business Daily, Economy Daily, Liaoning TV, Dalian TV, China Entrepreneur and China Communication Daily and so on attend the press conference.

At the press conference, journalists actively raised various questions and the atmosphere was very enthusiastic. The questions covered anticipation of the current financial crisis length, “New New Pattern” meaning, intermodal development, venue of the next GSS and so on. Senior managers from Hamburg Port, Port of Tallinn, Port Klang, Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia and African Logistics Association answer questions on how to expand cooperation with China shipping industry and Chinese freight forwarders.

Mr. Kang Shuchun is CEO of ShippingChina.com, Which is the GSS host. He said:“ We should not say that this financial crisis has led the shipping industry into the winter. It is more appropriate to say this financial crisis is a cold torrent in economy. This cold torrent spreads widely. However, when this cold torrent passed, the world will become better and human civilization and economy will step into a brand new stage.” 

When answering the question on “New New Pattern”, Mr. Kang said:“Every enterprise keens on new things, which stands for the most advanced productivity. However, risk co-exists with innovation. The current financial crisis originated from subcredit crisis is the best example. Many people may say that there are some problems with innovation. Actually, this is not true. Innovation by itself is very good. We cannot give up innovation due to fear of failure. We must persist on innovation and create better business model.
